Sometimes you visit a place to have your expectations totally blown away. This is what happened the first time we visited Bondville Model Village!
You may have seen model villages before – but almost certainly not like this! The scale and attention to detail are simply astounding, and we’ve since visited two more times, and still see new things we haven’t noticed before.

Homes of all shapes and sizes are depicted, along with a vast array of shops, churches and public buildings. And there’s more! A ruined abbey can be found near a working farm. Then just past the cricket ground you’ll discover – overlooking the harbour – the old castle.
All in all it’s a very impressive feat which has obviously taken a lot of care and attention to get just right.
A visit to Bondville Model Village is perfect for all ages, with easy parking right outside the gate, level paths all the way round, and a cute cafe serving drinks and snacks.
You can find it in the pretty village of Sewerby, just along the coast road from Bridlington. Why not make a day of it with a gentle walk along the cliff-tops into Bridlington – which are located just a few yards behind the model village. You can also get the land train back to Sewerby to save your weary feet!
